Company Paying Up to $3.9 Billion To Settle Asbestos Claims

The world's fifth largest manufacturer of wallboard agreed to set aside some $3.9 billion in personal injury claims over asbestos litigation.

The company, USG, will create and fund a trust for personal injury claims with $900 million in cash and a contingent note for another $3.05 billion.
